SacAnime Winter 2027 Welcomes Mark Meer
Mark Meer is a Canadian actor, voice performer, writer, and improviser best known to gaming fans as the voice of Commander Shepard in BioWare’s acclaimed Mass Effect trilogy and Mass Effect Legendary Edition. In addition to Shepard, Mark voices numerous fan-favourite characters throughout the Mass Effect universe, including Blasto, Niftu Cal, the Vorcha, and the Hanar.
His extensive video game credits also include roles in the Dragon Age and Baldur’s Gate series, William Mackenzie in The Long Dark, Starro the Conqueror and other characters in Gotham Knights, and Deadalus in MythForce.
Beyond video games, Mark is an accomplished improviser, actor, and writer. He is a longtime member of Edmonton’s Rapid Fire Theatre, a core company member of the Canadian Comedy Award-winning improvised soap opera Die-Nasty, and a co-creator, writer, and star of the award-winning Canadian comedy series Tiny Plastic Men.
Mark is also well known in the tabletop gaming community. He has appeared in Vampire: The Masquerade – L.A. by Night, served as both a player and guest Dungeon Master on the official Dungeons & Dragons Ravenloft series The Black Dice Society, and appeared as the Keeper of Arcane Lore in Chaosium’s Call of Cthulhu actual-play series Bookshops of Arkham and Graveyards of Arkham.
